The School of Pharmacy offers advanced degree programs leading to MS and PhD degrees in pharmaceutical sciences. Past graduates are decision makers and program leaders in the pharmaceutical industry, Food and Drug Administration, National Institutes of Health, and universities in the United States and around the world. The program prepares students to become independent researchers in one of four major focus areas: 1) Genomics, Proteomics, and Drug Discovery 2) Drug Targeting and Delivery 3) NeuroEndocrine Pharmacology and 4) Drug Disposition and Response. Each of these focus areas builds on the basic knowledge base in pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacogenetics, pharmacology, and statistics that all graduate students learn as part of the program. In addition, a specialized training program in the Clinical Pharmaceutical Sciences is available which emphasizes patient-oriented and translational research.
